TXT: Teens Exploring Technology

We are a nationally recognized NPO focused on inspiring young men of color to become tech entrepreneurs and transformational leaders. We use code as a tool to improve the lives of those living in the inner cities. Our interdisciplinary curriculum develops leadership, entrepreneurship, design and coding skills among black and brown boys. At the end of the day, our main focus is to develop young men of color into innovative, futuristic, unbound thinkers who will change the world.

Director of Programs is responsible for inspiring and developing youth into the best version of themselves. You are responsible for motivating black and brown boys to shoot for excellence in their everyday lives. You will have the opportunity to change South Central Los Angeles by creating a path towards upward mobility through technology for our youth. We need someone who can hustle and make a positive dent in the hood. Candidate must be passionate about learning, curiosity, leadership, and innovation in youth development. You don’t need to know how to code.


  • Develop strong relationships with youth, parents, and other stakeholders;
  • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas;
  • Plan and execute TXT’s high-quality coding and youth development programs;
  • Oversee, conduct assessment of, and reports on all programs to improve youth development;
  • Coordinate the recruitment and outreach of volunteers;
  • Facilitate the selection of SCLA, JR.SCLA, and Cube workshop participants ;
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee summer coaches and program staff as needed;
  • Develop Transformative, innovative and experiential learning experiences for youth;
  • Set and ensure alignment between youth development goals and program outcomes;
  • Develop and Track programming expenses;
  • Help us become the #1 leader in youth development in Los Angeles;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Is a Lifelong Learner;
  • Enjoys Problem Solving;
  • Is Self-Aware and is a student of emotional intelligence;
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good Organizational skills

The Candidate will need a background check, have a car and CA driver’s license, and be willing to work Saturdays; this is a full-time position with benefits.
