TXT: Teens Exploring Technology

TXT: Teens Exploring Technology is a nationally recognized not for profit organization focused on inspiring young men of color to become confident leaders. We use technology as a tool to improve the lives of those living in marginalized communities. Our interdisciplinary curriculum develops leadership, entrepreneurship, design and coding skills among underrepresented teens. At the end of the day, our main focus is to develop young men of color into innovative, futuristic, unbound thinkers who will change the world through their passions.

Associate Director of Programs (ADP)

ADP is responsible for youth development, management, outreach, recruitment, and tracking program expenses. You do not need to know how to code. You are responsible for developing amazing human beings. You oversee the training and supervision of student staff, volunteers and mentors. You will manage the program evaluations, maintain records and monitor student progress. The successful candidate needs to be highly organized and have strong personal emotional intelligence. Candidate must be passionate about transforming the lives of young Black and Latino boys in low-income communities.

Salary Range

$45,000 - $55,000


  • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas;
  • Plan and execute TXT’s high quality coding and youth development programs;
  • Oversee, conduct assessment of, and reports on all programs;
  • Coordinate the recruitment and outreach of program participants and volunteers;
  • Facilitate the selection of program participants, collect pre/ post assessment and track TXTrs academic progress;
  • Support and build strong relationships with partners (i.e schools, corporate, and families);
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee youth development training and orientation for all members or volunteers;
  • Collaborate with staff to develop innovative curricular options that include transformative, experiential learning experiences, which develop unbound thinkers.
  • Work collaboratively with the CEO, Software Developer, and Operations Manager, as needed, to ensure alignment between youth development goals, operational imperatives, and program outcomes;
  • Track programming expenses;
  • Others duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Fast Learner;
  • Self-starter, problem solver who is able to connect with youth;
  • Self-Aware of strengths and weaknesses;
  • Has a philosophy of “Success is not hard, just a lot of work”;
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Spanish is a plus but not required;
  • A passion for developing human beings into the best version of themselves.

The Candidate will need a background check, have a car and CA driver’s license, and be willing to work Saturdays; this is a full-time position. Compensation based on experience.
