TxTer Alum

I was a high school senior when I participated in Teens Exploring Technology (TxT) and during that time, I evolved in to a new person. I was a lost kid who didn’t know what to do or how to do it. During the program, Oscar and the mentors really challenged me and made me work outside of my comfort zone as I worked on a project that seemed impossible to finish at the time. I am proud to say that my group finished our project, VetNet, with flying colors, and that I’d also changed into a new “me”. Thanks to TxT I became more aware of my surroundings, I have gained many significant skills that will help me with my life, and most importantly I have developed my goals in life. Moreover, TxT has equipped me with skills that I found necessary to – along with friends – create an organization for a competition called OCEAN Los Angeles, where were able to achieve our goal of spreading ocean awareness across our neighborhood. Now, I attend to Cal Poly Pomona, I am majoring in Computer Science, and I am a member of Triangle Fraternity. I intend to use the drive that I gained in UrbanTxT to achieve my long-term goal: becoming a college professor and making a difference in the computer science field.
