TXT teaches foster youth to code

TXT recently partnered with the Pritzker Foundation for a hackathon called #HackFosterCareLA. We believe foster youth should be able to grow their tech skills and make meaningful changes to the foster care system. On Saturday, April 15, TXT provided a design thinking and coding workshop in order for foster youth to confidently hack away. Over 90% of the attendees said they wanted to continue working with TXT to build technology solutions for problems in the foster care system. As a panelist, our CEO also presented about careers in the tech sector in order to get foster youth more access to the tech industry.

It's so critical that foster youth do not get left behind and we look forward to continuing to serve more foster youth.  For us, #HackFosterCareLA is only the beginning to prepare more youth for high-paying tech jobs. We are looking to build a coding camp for this population. If you are interested in volunteering or donating to show your support, email info@urbantxt.com
