Michael is the Program Assistant and Marketing Director at Teens Exploring Technology (TXT). He was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles as the youngest in his family. Michael graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Film. In his collegiate experience, he has been able to develop leadership skills through his involvement in Hermanos Unidos de USC and the Omega Gamma Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International, Fraternity, Inc. By putting these organizations’ principles into action, he learned the value of remaining humble and giving back to your community. He now strives to counter the stereotypical perceptions of young Latino and African-American men, going to prison or joining gangs, by inspiring them to become technological entrepreneurs and leaders of their communities.
His past work experience includes working with elementary students from neighboring schools through the Joint Educational Project, facilitating the Science Program of the Neighborhood Academic Initiative Program, and mentoring incoming freshman at the USC Housing Cardinal Gardens.
Michael loves skateboarding, running and listening to music.
